Google has announced the launch of its own artificial intelligence-powered chatbot, Bard, to rival Microsoft's ChatGPT. This new AI service combines the breadth of the world's knowledge with the power and intelligence of large language models.
According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, the goal of Bard is to provide bold and responsible AI services. The company has invested heavily in AI technology over the past few years, and Bard is based on a language model called Lambda.
The success of ChatGPT has caused concern for Google, as it poses a threat to the company's business model by potentially transforming search engines to provide more tailored and relevant results. With more than 90% of the world's searches being performed on Google, the company generates a significant portion of its revenue through advertising.
Google hopes that Bard will be the answer to ChatGPT and be able to compete in the AI industry. While the success of Bard is yet to be determined, it is a clear indication that Google is taking the threat posed by ChatGPT seriously.
